What are different solutions for hotel restaurant?

Many hotels have their own restaurant. Mostly hotel restaurant works for internal and external customers, but some hotel restaurants are open only for hotel guests. There are different hotel and restaurant solutions.

Types of hotel restaurants

There can be mentioned different types of hotel restaurants. Some of them differentiate because of who is the owner or because of their destination. As well in one hotel, there can be a few different restaurants. Hotel and restaurant solutions may be separated:

Firstly, because of the owner of the restaurant. Sometimes hotel and restaurant have the same owner, so the restaurant is owned by the hotel. In some cases restaurant has a different owner than the hotel, so it just rents a space in the hotel and there are two different companies.

Secondly, because of the purpose of the hotel restaurant. Some hotels open restaurant only to serve breakfast, others have a full-time working restaurant. Also if the hotel includes a few restaurants it may have for instance:

  • one restaurant for internal use to serve breakfast,
  • second one to be open for external guests as well,
  • third one for organizing big parties like a wedding reception.

Another reasons for having few restaurants in one hotel may be its size (one may not be enough for the huge hotel) or the need to categorize restaurants (by their quality, type of served kitchen e.t.c). To meet different guest expectations sometimes a hotel needs to have a high-quality and fancy restaurant, plus medium quality restaurant at the same time. As well it may have one restaurant where is served regional food, and the second one which serves e.g Italian or Mexican kitchen.

In most cases hotel restaurant is used for many purposes, to provide additional hotel revenue. It helps to attract more internal and external guests. It may be used for example to serve breakfast, make a business meeting or organize a party.
