Hotel mobile check in is possible in many chain hotels. This solution is used often by loyal guests because they do not have to come to the hotel reception to make check in. Instead of that, guests can make self-check into the room.

To be able to make a hotel online check in the guest needs to have installed a hotel app on his / her mobile device. Not every hotel has a mobile app. It is mostly available in big hotel chains and it is available for guest who is registered to certain chain loyalty program.

How to make a hotel mobile check in via app?

To check in to the hotel via an online app the guest needs to finish a few steps:

• install an app,
• make the reservation via the app,
• give the payment card details for payment guarantee or pre-pay the stay,
• chose an option of online check in and follow the app guidance.

Crucial thing is to make the reservation via the mobile app. Online check in via the app is not possible for reservations made in different ways.

As well without giving payment card details or pre-paying for the stay, the guest will not be able to make an online check in. The reason for that is very simple. If the guest will get remote access to the room, he/she may not be even seen by hotel staff. So the hotel does not have a guarantee that the guest will come to pay for the stay.

The important fact is that the first online check in to a certain hotel will require coming to the front office anyway. The guest will need to confirm their identity with a valid document.
