Is it possible to have a Paris day trip and see it all? Depending on if you want just to see the most popular places or visit all museums inside. During the weekend Paris trip, you can sightsee the city and its attractions, but for visiting all museums, you will need more time. Check out below Paris trip planner for 2 days, to take as much as possible from your short stay in the city.
Weekend Paris trip – exact plan for 2 days
This two days Paris trip planner is based on my personal trip to Paris. I walked the distance on foot, and only used the metro to come back to the hotel. The Paris day trip plans below are made so that you can choose if you want to start from the first place, or from the last place and go the other way round.
Paris day trip no.1
The first day of the weekend Paris trip, you can start at Luxemburg Garden. Then you can go straight to Notre Dame Cathedral and Sainte-Chapelle.
The next stop in your Paris day trip will be Louvre Museum and Tuileries Gardens, and by walking through them you will reach the Place de la Concorde.
Then you can go to Champs-Elysees Gardens, where you can see for example palaces and theater as well. From there you will go to Moulin Rouge (you can take the 13 metro line).
This is where the first day in Paris trip planner finishes. You can go to take a rest or continue the route from the second-day plan.
Paris day trip No. 2
The second day of the weekend Paris trip starts at Arch de Triumph. After visiting it, you can continue walking through Champs-Elysees Street to the Franklin de Roosevelt roundabout.
Then you will turn right to Avenue Montaigne, which is a popular street with the boutiques of most known brands (e.g.Dior). At the end of the street, you may see Champs Elysees Theater.
From there you can walk next to the Seine River to the Eiffel Tower (meanwhile you may visit Trocadero Gardens if you want).
You can finish your trip at Champs de Mars and Ephemeral Grand Palace, or go to the Hotel des Invalides.
Weekend Paris trip planner – tips
The trip plans above are made in a way that you can connect them and see all places in one day Paris trip (if you will manage the time and transport well). As well you will easily be able to reach one place after another by walking or by public transport. Depending on where you will stay, you have a few options to follow the weekend Paris trip plans:
- You can walk all the distance if you are able/like to walk 5-15km daily.
- You can take public transport in the first place and then walk to another trip point.
- You can travel to/from the hotel and between certain trip points by metro, bus, or tram.
- You can go on foot to the first place and then come back to your hotel by public transport from the last place.
Paris travel tips– public transport
Paris has very good public transport connections, so you should not have a problem finding transport from one place to another or the hotel. If you want to save money on your
weekend Paris trip, the cheapest solution will be to walk instead of using public transport. If you plan to use public transport mostly, then you should think about buying a day pass ticket.
This is how you can plan your weekend Paris trip to sightsee the city and visit its most popular attractions. I hope you found it helpful and I wish you a great trip!
Thank you 🙂
